Bruce Springsteen ‘High Hopes’ went home to over 11,000 Australians last week but even with those lukewarm figures The Boss easily managed to take the top spot on the Australian album chart from Beyoncé.
‘High Hopes’ sold 11,440 copies in Australia in its first week on sale. The number two album, the ‘Frozen’ soundtrack, sold 4,247 and last week’s number one ‘Beyoncé’ by Beyoncé sold 3237.
As the New Year begins, new releases are slowly trickling out. The next highest debut was from country act McAlister Kemp ‘Harder To Tame’ at number 18. Next came Warpaint ‘Warpaint’ at 35, A Great Big World ‘Is There Anybody Out There?’ at 45, The Angels ‘Talk The Talk’ at 46 and Switchfoot ‘Fading West’ at 50.
Pink had the number one music DVD with ‘The Truth About Love – Live From Melbourne’ and Pharrell Williams would be ‘Happy’ with 38,843 downloads sold of his current hit from the ‘Despicable Me 2’ soundtrack.
