Bruce Springsteen Lowers USB Price

Bruce Springsteen has adjusted the price of his upcoming concert recording downwards after uproar from fans after the price was announced.

Springsteen planned to sell poor quality MP3 format shows on USB for $40 compared to Pearl Jam’s $9.99 a show price for a concert download.

The fans of Bruce Springsteen are going to get what they really wanted.

After last week’s announcement that the Boss would be making live concert audio of his upcoming shows available for download onto official wristbands, the fans went crazy. Then the news dropped that the USB bands would be around $40 each and, at 2 mb, would only hold one show in a fairly low quality MP3 format.

Message boards lit up with complaints, especially for those that wanted to collect full sets of the shows. Well, either only part of the story was released last week or Springsteen’s people were listening because Backstreets.com has confirmed that the shows will also be available for download without the wristband scheme and at a much lower price. MP3 at 320 kbps will cost $9.99 per show while FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec), a much higher quality file, will be $14.99. The downloads will be available through the official Live Nation online store after each stop.
