Bruce Springsteen Performs AC/DC In Perth

by Paul Cashmere on February 9, 2014

in Live,News

Bruce Springsteen channelled the hometown sounds of Perth last night when he opened his third Australian show with AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’.

AC/DC’s Bon Scott was a Fremantle boy and is buried in the town just south of Perth.

Springsteen set a pattern of performing the songs of hometown legends when he opened his 2013 Australian tour in Brisbane with a cover of The Saints ‘Just Like Fire Would’. He went on to record the Saints song a week later in Sydney. That Sydney recording is the version featured on his new album ‘High Hopes’.

Bruce Springsteen once opened a London show with The Clash’s ‘London Calling’.

After 29 Years Sex Pistols Return To Melbourne’s Festival Hall #Review

The one criticism I must say about Sex Pistols 2025 is that unlike 1977, we now have musicians who can play and a singer who can sing. You’ve also got to love that three guys fast approaching 70 have made their career for the past half a century out of a lyric that goes “No future for you, no future me”. As that wise old philosopher Alanis Morissette once said, “isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?”.
