Speculation is mounting that Bruce Springsteen will release a cover of ‘High Hopes’ this week. The song was part of his recent Australian setlist and was recording in a studio in Australia.
Mystery surrounds a posting over the weekend on the Dutch site Wimp.dk that showed a new Bruce Springsteen single that was being released tomorrow (Tuesday).
According to the site, the single is called High Hopes and the supposed artwork was shown with the announcement.
The song has appeared before in the Springsteen cannon on the DVD for Blood Brothers and was performed during his recent Australian tour. It is also known that Bruce and the E-Street Band spent time in an Australian recording studio, one of the first times they have ever recorded during a tour.
High Hopes was originally recorded by the Havalinas in 1990.
UPDATED STORY:
The Boss’ website has posted the cover art for the new release; however, they have a confirmed date of November 25 which is different from the original rumor of tomorrow (November 19).
High Hopes was originally recorded in 1990 by the group the Havalinas and was included on the DVD Blood Brothers.
