Bruno Mars’ mother has died of a reported brain aneurysm.
Bernadette Hernandez unexpectedly died at the aged of 55 yesterday. She passed away at the
Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Initially it was reported that Bernadette had a heart attack, however that is now not thought to be the case.
TMZ reports she suffered a brain aneurysm, which an unidentified source has confirmed to Associated Press. The insider is a publicist for Bruno’s label, Atlantic Records, and only made the comment on the understanding their identity would not be revealed.
Bernadette was taken to hospital on Friday, which was first reported by the American edition of Star magazine.
‘Bernadette is in hospital and the grandkids are all here, I’m looking after them,’ family member Anito Sojot told the publication. ‘The family is on its way here right now and we are going to discuss what to do next.’
Bernadette was instrumental in her son’s career, encouraging his love of music since he was a little boy. He penned a song about her called I Love You Mom when he was young and has spoken of how much her support meant to him.
