A brand new musical revue based on the music of Burt Bacharach will begin previews at the Off-Broadway New York Theater Workshop on November 19 and open December 5. What’s It All About? Bacharach Reimagined is scheduled to run through January 5.
The revue was conceived by Kyle Riabko, who has appeared on Broadway in Spring Awakening and Hair, and David Lane Seltzer and will be directed by Steven Hoggert.
Riabko, who has opened for such acts as John Mayer, B.B. King, Maroon 5 and Buddy Guy, will perform his unique, soulful arrangements of the Bacharach songbook with an eclectic group of young musicians and performers. Per press for the show, it is a “re-introduction to the timeless music of Bacharach through the eyes and ears of a new generation.”
Bacharach said of the production, “I’m very supportive of this project. I think Kyle has done something truly unique with my music. I like it very much, and I think you will too.”
The cast of What’s It All About? is Riabko, Daniel Bailen, Laura Dreyfuss, James Nathan Hopkins, Nathaly Lopez, James Williams, and Daniel Woods.
