Carl Barat announces his long awaited return with a show at XOYO in London on Thursday 15th May and details of his new band – Carl Barat & The Jackals.
At XOYO, in Shoreditch, the band will be playing new songs and a selection of fan favourites from Barat’s previous incarnations. Tickets for the show will be available on Friday 11th April at 9:00am.
Support will come from Lois & The Love and Trampolene.
This will be the first show for Barats new band, who were recruited from over 1,000 applications via social media networks last month. The new band are: Carl Barat: vocals/guitar, Billy Tessio: Guitar, Adam Claxton: Bass Guitar and Jay Bone: Drums.
Baratt will be away in Switzerland filming his first starring role, in the film ‘For This Is My Body’ for two months from the middle of May. In his absence the band will be putting the finishing touches to the, yet to be titled, forthcoming album, produced by Joby J. Ford (The Bronx), for release in September.
As a member of the Libertines Barat released two albums, Up The Bracket (2002) and The Libertines (2004). His next band, Dirty Pretty Things, released Waterloo To Anywhere (2006) and Romance At Short Notice (2008), followed by a solo album, Carl Barat, in 2010 and his first book Threepenny Memoir: The Lives Of A Libertine in the same year.
