Justin Bieber protégé Carly Rae Jepsen has knocked Gotye from the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Baby’ is the first debut by a female artist to top the American chart since Ke$ha’s ‘Tik Tok’ in January 2010. The song has already sold 3.2 million downloads in America.
When Carly heard the news of her number one song in America she said, “Wow. I feel so blessed. Thank you to everyone who made this happen. Life keeps surprising me lately and it’s a wonderful feeling.”
‘Call Me Baby’ has already clocked up over 100 million views on YouTube.
Carly Rae Jepsen is signed to Justin Bieber’s Schoolboy Records. When she was in Australia recently she dropped into Noise11.com and talked about how Bieber discovered her.
