Josh Piterman, who is currently starring as Gerry Goffin in ‘Beautiful: The Carole King Musical’ in Melbourne, will release his debut solo album on Robert Rigby’s Fanfare Records label in April.

Josh was a member of The Ten Tenors before venturing into theatre as Tony in West Side Story in 2010. He has since starred in ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’, ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘Hairspray’, ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’, ‘Kismet’, ‘The Light in the Piazza’ and ‘The Last Five Years’.

In ‘Beautiful: The Carole King Musical’ Josh has a co-starring role with Ester Hannaford (Carole) as Carole’s husband and co-writer Gerry Goffin.

Josh’s album was recorded in Europe with The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and was produced by John Foreman. The songs include Burn For You (John Farnham), Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers), Wicked Game (Chris Isaak), Creep (Radio Head), Iris (Goo Goo Dolls) All Of Me (John Legend), and Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen). ‘Il Gladiatore’ is a duet with his ‘Beautiful’ co-star Lucy Maunder.

Robert Rigby said in a statement, “Josh has delivered a spectacular album of popular songs with clever orchestral arrangements. A refreshing concept that will take people by surprise. He has brought a touch of romance to these songs. A big new brilliant voice has arrived on the music scene.”

The album will be release 6 April 2018 on Fanfare Records through Sony Music.
