Carole King will perform her classic album ‘Tapestry’ for the very first time in July.
King released her second album ‘Tapestry’ in 1971. By that stage Carole King was already America’s ‘go-to songwriter’ with her songs like ‘The Loco-Motion’, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’, ‘Pleasant Valley Sunday’ and ‘You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman’ already global hits for Little Eva, The Chiffons, The Monkees and Aretha Franklin.
When ‘Tapestry’ came along it exceeded all expectations selling over 25 million copies, spending 15 weeks at number one on the Billboard chart and sitting for more than 300 weeks in Billboards Top 200 from 1971 – 2011.
Carole told the BBC that this album play “actually wasn’t my idea” and that “no-one has ever thought to ask and I loved the idea.”
Carole King will perform ‘Tapestry’ live on July 3, 2016 for London’s British Summer Time Festival.
