Kerri Kasem, daughter of legendary host Casey Kasem, has wasted no time in taking control of her father’s health care.
Kerri and her siblings have been fighting in court to be allowed to see their father who has been moved from his home to Washington state by his wife, Jean. Casey is fighting a number of illnesses including an advanced form of dementia.
On Friday, a judge granted Kerri visitation rights along with the right to have her father seen by a doctor of her choosing. Kerri had told the court that, along with his dementia, her father was suffering from bed sores and lung and kidney infections.
Jean Kasem spoke to the press after Friday’s ruling, saying “Shame on these children! Shame! Who have done this to their father and who have shredded my family.” Jean has blocked Casey’s children from seeing their father for a number of months.
On Sunday, Kerri had her father transported by ambulance to an unnamed hospital for treatment. His condition and how long he will be hospitalized is unknown.
