Sydney hip-hop artist Chance Waters has signed with Island Records for distribution from Universal Music.
Waters aka Phatchance made the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2012 with the indie releases ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ and ‘Dumb & Dumber’. His debut album ‘Inkstains’ was released through independent label Obsese in 2009.
“I’m ridiculously excited to team up with Island, this is a career defining moment for me, they’re an amazing team who understand my sound and creative direction and the best home I could hope to have found for my music” Waters has said of his recent signing.
“Chance has a special gift of being able to convey an affecting message through his melodies. He’s a gentle soul who’s also a hard-core troubadour. We’re thrilled he’s come to Island Records Australia!” Michael Taylor, Head Of Island Records Australia.
