French superstar Charles Aznavour has died in the south east of France at the age of 94.
Aznavour sold over 180 million records during his career. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was nicknamed France’s Frank Sinatra.
Aznavour’s biggest hit was ‘She’ in 1974.
‘She’ was covered by Elvis Costello for the ‘Notting Hill’ soundtrack.
Despite his age, Aznavour was still working. He had dates in France and Switzerland booked for November and recently returned from a tour of japan.
Charles Aznavour was also an actor, appearing in over 30 movies from 1936 to 2009.
Charles Aznavour received many honours during his career including the Grand meal of the French Academy, the National Hero of Armenia, the Commander in the Belgian Order of the Crown and Honorary Officer of the Order of Canada.
Aznavour was married three times and has six children.
