Convicted killer, and one-time wanna-be rock star, Charles Manson has been issued a marriage license and plans to wed a 26-year old follower.
The 80-year old murderer was found guilty of the murder of seven people in 1971, including actress Sharon Tate. The crimes occurred over two nights in 1969. He was sentenced to life in prison and will not be eligible for parole until 2027 when he is 93.
26-year old Elaine Burton has confirmed she has obtained a marriage license and will wed Manson within the next month.
Manson was attempting to create a race war he called ‘Helter Skelter’ after The Beatles song.
Prior to his notoriety, Charles Manson had befriended Dennis Wilson from The Beach Boys. Wilson paid to Manson’s recording sessions and introduced him to terry Melcher, the son of Doris Day. Manson visited Melcher at his house in 10050 Cielo Drive in Benedict Canyon. Melcher declined to sign Manson.
Melcher was living at the Cielo Drive house with his girlfriend at the time Candice Bergen. Around the time he knocked back Manson, Melcher and Bergen moved from their house and rented it to Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate.
It has been theorised but never proven that Manson came to the house thinking Melcher was still there but instead killed eight-month pregnant Sharon Tate and six others.
The Beach Boys recorded one of Manson’s songs ‘Cease To Exist’ with modified lyrics and called it ‘Never Learn Not To Love’. It appeared on their ‘20/20’ album in 1969. Dennis Wilson sang lead vocal on the song.
Guns ‘n’ Roses recorded Manson’s ‘Look At Your Game, Girl’. It song is the unlisted 13th track on their 1993 ‘The Spaghetti Incident’. Manson namesake Marilyn Manson also recorded his song ‘My Monkey’ for the ‘Portrait of an American Family’ album released in 1994.
The 1967 and 1968 recording of Charles Manson were eventually released in 1970 after Manson’s arrest as the album ‘Lie: The Love and the Terror Cult’.
