Charlie Daniels Keyboard Player Killed In Car Crash

Joe ‘Taz’ DiGregorio, a member of The Charlie Daniels Band for over 40 years, died in a car accident in Tennessee on Wednesday (October 12, 2012).

Taz died in the single car accident, en route to meet the Charlie Daniels Band tour bus for the band’s next gig at the Cumming Country Fair. The accident occurred on the I-40 West of Nashville.

“I am in shock now, Taz was one of my best friends, ” said Charlie Daniels in a statement. “The CDB family has lost a great friend and musician. We traveled many miles together and shared so many nights on the road. We’re going to miss you buddy. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten. We send our deepest condolences to the family.”

Taz was the co-writer of many of the Charlie Daniels Bands songs including ‘The Devil Went Down To Georgia’.

He was 67.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

The Charlie Daniels Band have cancelled their Cumming Country Fair show as well as their scheduled appearance in Waterbury, CT on Saturday.
