Blues legend Charlie Musselwhite has a mainstream hit in the USA. For the first time in his five decade career Musselwhite has a hit album on the Billboard chart.
‘Get Up’ is a collaboration with Ben Harper. The albums, released on Stax, debuted this week at no. 27 in the USA with sales of 15,495, according to Hitsdailydouble.com.
Musselwhite was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2010. His first album ‘Stand Back! Here Comes Charley Musselwhite’s Southside Band, was released in 1967.
He has guested on recordings by INXS (Suicide Blonde) and Tom Waits (Mule Variations) as well albums by Bonnie Raitt and The Blind Boys of Alabama.
