Chris Brown has reportedly been charged with a criminal hit and run.
The Los Angeles City Attorney filed two misdemeanours against the R&B singer who is still on probation for his 2009 assault on Rihanna.
The charges stem from a minor car accident in May where Chris ‘rear ended a Mercedes’ and allegedly refused to hand over the correct insurance and licence information to the other driver, according to TMZ.
The star is also accused of driving without a valid driver’s licence.
Chris has since tweeted an angry response to the charges.
“It’s not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars),’ he wrote. ‘This is really ridiculous.
‘I have a valid driver’s licence and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene,’ he added.
The City Attorney will also be referring the matter to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for a possible probation violation in the Rihanna assault case according to the website. Chris could be in prison for up to four years if found guilty of violating probation.
The latest news is yet another blow for the singer who has also been accused of assaulting a woman in a nightclub.
Chris allegedly harmed a 24-year-old woman inside the Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim, California on Saturday.
However new video footage of the accuser reportedly shows her walking on the leg she claims Brown ‘seriously injured’.
The footage apparently shows the woman walking outside the nightclub just minutes after the alleged incident, according to TMZ who posted the video.
The victim says Chris shoved her to the ground inside the club, which supposedly tore the ligaments in her right knee.
