Chris Brown has won joint custody of his daughter Royalty.
The Turn Up the Music singer has the 15-month-old little girl with former friend Nia Guzman. However the pair have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle, which was resolved on Friday with a judge ruling that the 26-year-old should be allowed 50-50 custody of his daughter.
Chris posted a picture of himself smiling alongside two men in court to confirm the news, as well as attack one particular media outlet for falsely reporting that he hadn’t bothered to show up to the hearing.
‘Sorry TMZ, I think u got your info wrong. I’ve been in the court for the last 2 hours. #ILOVEROYALTY (sic)’ he wrote on Instagram.
Chris attended court in Houston, Texas where the judge issued a gagging order against Nia which stops her from making negative comments about the singer on social media.
The Forever singer requested the order after he and Nia had a number of public spats over their daughter, often lashing out in public via websites like Twitter.
Nia had called the star’s home an unsafe environment, citing concerns after a break-in on July 15.
The judge also agreed to Chris’ suggested amount of $2,500 a month in child support.
Nia had originally been seeking sole custody and supervised visits only from the court, as well as $15,000 a month in child support, however all her requests was denied.
Royalty will now move between her parents every four days and Chris was able to take home his daughter straight from the courtroom.
