Ciara believes she can ‘conquer the world’ since becoming a mother.
The 29-year-old singer welcomed son Future Zahir Wilburn with rapper Future in May last year.
And Ciara has revealed in a new interview that the process of giving birth has made her realise that there is nothing that she can’t handle.
‘After pushing out a baby I feel like there’s nothing I can’t do,’ Ciara told the New York Daily News. ‘I really feel like I can conquer the world.’
Ciara is preparing to release her new album Jackie, which hits shelves on May 1. The record is named after her mother, and Ciara says there is a lot she has learned from the album’s namesake.
‘My mom is a very tough woman,’ she said. ‘I feel like a mini-Jackie. I have to be tough in my work environment and tough in the world.’
The singer split from Future in August 2014. She has recently been romantically linked to sportsman Russell Wilson, but Ciara refused to comment on the allegations. ‘I’m having an amazing time right now in life, that I can tell you,’ she said before adding, ‘I’ve had my ups. I’ve had my downs, but I’ve been able to push through every obstacle that’s been thrown my way. It’s my time.’
Ciara is already back in shape after welcoming baby Future into the world. However, she admits that shedding the pounds hasn’t been easy, and she’ll definitely treat pregnancy differently the second time around.
‘I lost 60 lbs – SIX O,’ she said. ‘I definitely won’t be gaining 60 lbs with my next baby, I can tell you that. This time, I ate everything I wanted. I’ll never do that again.’
