Blackman, the wife of Carlos Santana, joined the Lenny Kravitz band for ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’ in 1993. Before joining the Kravitz band she had only ever played jazz.

Kravitz announced the return of Cindy Blackman-Santana on Facebook.

In July, 2010 Carlos Santana proposed to her during his show in Tinley Park, Illinois. They married in December, 2010. She is his touring drummer.

Blackman has recorded eight of her own albums.

Lenny Kravitz will release his 10th studio album ‘Strut’ in September.
