Ross Wilson’s first solo album ‘Dark Side Of The Man’ is finally available via iTunes.
‘Dark Side of the Man’ was originally released in 1989, 24 years after Wilson’s first released music as a teenager with the Pink Finks, his band with long time collaborator Ross Hannaford.
‘Dark Side of the Man’ was recorded in Melbourne, Sydney and New York. The musicians on the album now reads like a list of who’s who in the biz with Vika and Linda Bull, Kerryn Tolhurst of The Dingos, Wendy Matthews, Mark Moffitt, Paul Grabowsky, and Daddy Cool’s Gary Young also performing on various tracks.
Bernie Worrell (Parliament, Talking Heads) and UK guitarist Chris Spedding also appear on the album.
‘Dark Side of the Man’ was released on Warner’s WEA label in 1989 and delivered the hit song ‘Bed of Nails’.
Since ‘Dark Side of the Man’ Wilson has released four more solo albums ‘Go Bongo Go Wild’ (2001), Country and Wilson (2003), ‘Tributary’ (2008) and ‘I Come In Peace’ (2010).
‘Tributary’ was an acoustic reworking of his greatest hits solo, with Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock. The title track of ‘I Come In Peace’, co-written by Rick Brewster of the Angels, was later covered by Joe Cocker.
