Cloud Control have released an acoustic version of their ‘Dream Cave’ album.
‘Dream Cave Unplugged’ is a stripped back alternative to the AMP shortlisted ‘Dream Cave’ album, released in 2013.
Singer Alister Wright says the band wanted to show fans a purer version of how the original songs sounded to the band as demos. “When we were writing the album most of the songs would start off on a laptop, writing beats and gathering ideas, but when we were getting closer to recording the album we spent a lot of time playing the songs unplugged, as a four-piece, in my living room in London. We wanted to do that to make sure the songs worked in a really classic way – that the lyrics and the chords and the melody were holding them together before we added everything else to them.”
The re-imagined album was recorded in Al’s lounge room, fuelled by pizza, beers and acoustic guitars.
Cloud Control will tour Australia in March and April.
