Coldplay have confirmed their time off is coming to an end and that they are about to head to active duty. What was a letter written to a fan mentioning a new album has been confirmed by the band as authentic.
A statement, now posted at the Coldplay Facebook page says that “for the last 100 years or thereabouts we have been working on a thing called ‘Everyday Life’. In the classifieds you might write ‘double album for sale, one careful owner’. One half is called ‘sunrise’, the other ‘sunset’. It comes out November 22”.
The resurgence of Coldplay comes less than a year after the band suggested they had broken up at the end of the ‘A Head Full of Dreams’ movie, released in November 2018. In the movie they refer to their last album ‘A Head Full of Dreams’ as being “the final album’ and that the movie was made to deal with “the end of an era”.
Is Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams movie their break-up announcement?
Not so, with a new record and 22 November release date.
They have also posted a cryptic short clip from The Magic Flute.
