Coldplay’s ‘Mylo Xyloto’ has debuted at number one in America with sales of around 458,000 units, according to HitsDailyDouble.com.
The Coldplay album beat out Kelly Clarkson ‘Stronger’, Michael Buble ‘Christmas’, Toby Keith ‘Clancy’s Tavern’ and Tom Waits ‘Bad As Me’ in a big week of debuts.
Coldplay was almost triple the sales of the number two album by Clarkson (458,000 vs 169,000).
Buble’s ‘Christmas’ sold 141,000, Toby Keith’s ‘Clancy’s Tavern’ sold 68,000 and Tom Waits ‘Bad As Me’ sold 61,000.
Adele ‘21’, the biggest selling album of 2011 by far, dropped back to 4.
