Coldplay Want A Different Sound For Next Record

Chris Martin says Coldplay’s new album ‘is the completion of something’.

The frontman announced the name of the new record on Britain’s Radio 1 on Thursday, revealing it will be titled A Head Full of Dreams.

And while Chris insisted the record won’t be the band’s last, he also revealed that the group have to treat it as their final offering to ensure it’s the best it can be.

‘It’s our seventh thing and the way we look at it is like the last Harry Potter book or something,’ Chris told Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. ‘Not to say there might not be another thing one day but this is the completion of something.

“It was great to go from Ghost Stories to go right back into the studio and now we’re making things that sound different,’ he continued.

“I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it. Then we will go on tour.”

Chris also admitted he may get in trouble for announcing the album title.

A Head Full of Dreams will be the band’s first record since the hugely successful Ghost Stories, released last May.

‘I haven’t told anyone this. We haven’t told anyone this,’ Chris said. ‘We’re making an album called A Head Full of Dreams.
“That’s what we’re working on. We’re right in the middle of it and because it’s you Zane and Radio 1, this feels like, OK I’ll tell you!
“I feel a bit nervous telling you because I didn’t get permission! But that’s what we’re doing,’ he shared.

Chris appeared on Zane’s show after listeners voted the band’s song Magic as the hottest track of 2014.
