Counting Crows have found a new home, signing with Capitol Records. Their first album in the new agreement, Somewhere Under Wonderland, will be released in the fall.
Lead singer Adam Duritz was enthusiastic about the new agreement, saying “I’m happy to announce that the new Counting Crows album Somewhere Under Wonderland will be coming out this Fall on Capitol Records!!! Just like The Beatles!!!”
Wonderland will be just the seventh studio album for the group over the last 21 years and is the followup to Underwater Sunshine (or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) (2012).
Steve Barnett, Chairman and CEO of Capitol Records, said “It’s not surprising that Counting Crows have built and maintained such a successful career for more than 20 years. The solid bond between the band and their audience has been forged through their great recordings and exciting live performances, and that relationship will continue with the release of Somewhere Under Wonderland and their forthcoming tour. I join everyone in our company in welcoming Counting Crows to Capitol.”
The band will perform their hit, Round Here, on Monday night’s Late Night With Seth Meyers in celebration of their new agreement.
