Country singer Randy Howard, who had minor success during the 80’s, was killed on Tuesday in a gunfight with a bounty hunter.
Howard, 65, was at his home in Lynchburg, TN when the bounty hunter arrived in an attempt to detain him for missing a court appearance. Howard was charged with his fourth DUI, possession of a firearm while drunk, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked license.
According to authorities, it was Howard who opened on the bounty hunter first. The man returned fire, killing Howard.
Randy Howard came to national attention on Bobby Lord’s television show on The Nashville Network. He charted two singles, All-American Redneck (1983 / #84 Country) and a cover of Ring of Fire (1988 / #66 Country) along with one album, All-American Redneck (1983 / #41 Country).
