Courtney Barnett won two AIR Awards this week while haring one with Gurrumul.
Courtney Barnett was named Best Independent Artist at the AIR Awards in Adelaide but the Best Independent Album or EP award came down to a tie between Courtney’s ‘Tell Me How You Really Feel’ and Gurrumul’s ‘Djarimirri’.
AIR GM, Maria Amato said in a statement, “It was great to celebrate the success of the Australian Independent music sector in Adelaide, last night. We congratulate all the award recipients and thank the South Australian Government for their continued support as well as our valued supporting partners.”
