Courtney Barnett, Seekae Named Amazon Artists To Watch In 2015

Melbourne singer songwriter Courtney Barnett and Sydney’s Seekae have been named Amazon’s Artists to Watch in 2015.

Amazon is showcasing Barnett’s ‘Avant Gardener’ track and Seekae’s ‘Monster’, offering both as a free download for a limited time.

“Taking the world by storm wouldn’t exactly fit Courtney Barnett’s slacker aesthetic, but her audiences are growing regardless. The Aussie singer-songwriter’s debut album, ‘The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas,’ is rife with wry humor, slacker delivery and lo-fi indie rock instrumentation,” they wrote describing the new Australian talent.

They describe Seekae, “When it comes to musical propositions, few carry the risk of an instrumental band transitioning to new sound with lyrics. Minimalist Sydney electronic trio Seekae took that leap of faith in 2014 on their third album, ‘The Worry,’ and it worked. Laying Alex Cameron’s vocals over the trio’s ambient compositions have taken Seekae’s emotional expression to the next level”.

Sydney’s Flight Facilities have also been included in the Amazon Artists to Watch list.

Amazon has 20 songs available for free from their Artists To Watch for 2015. Download here
