Bob Einstein, the comedy genius and Curb Your Enthusiasm star, has lost his battle with cancer at age 76.
Bob played Marty Funkhouser in the hit TV show starring Larry David.
Einstein’s first job was writing for the Smothers Brothers. It won him an Emmy. He then went on to write for The Sonny and Cher show.
Bob was first known on screen for his character Super Dave Osborne, created in 1972 for The John Byner Comedy Hour. Super Dave became a cartoon series in the 90s.
Bob’s brother, actor Albert Brooks tweeted, “My dear brother Bob Einstein. A great brother, father and husband. A brilliantly funny man. You will be missed forever.”
