Cyndi Lauper’s Broadway musical, Kinky Boots, was given thirteen nominations in twelve categories for the 67th Annual Tony Awards.
The show is closely followed by fellow musical Matilda with twelve nominations, the revival of Pippin with 10 and the revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella with 9.
Lauper could have a first if she were to win for Best Score as no woman has won the category on her own. All others who have won shared the award with a writing partner.
