Songwriter Paul Williams he has been working on the new Daft Punk album, and says it might be out mid-year.
The Oscar-winning songwriter was screening his new film Paul Williams Still Alive and revealed that he’s been working with the French neo-disco duo.
Williams wrote hits like ‘We’ve Only Just Begun’ for The Carpenters, co-wrote ‘Rainbow Connection’, and recently worked with Scissor Sisters.
He reportedly said at the SXSW screening, “I have written songs for Daft Punk. This material will appear on their new album, coming maybe June.”
This comes hot on the heels of Chic frontman Nile Rodgers revealing that he’s been working with Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter mere weeks ago.
Danger Mouse also said that he’s been producing for Daft Punk and suggested the album would be out next year.
