Dan Wilson Releases a New Song The Rules

by Paul Cashmere on April 26, 2019

in News

Former Semisonic frontman and songwriter to the stars Dan Wilson has released a new song called ‘The Rules’.

‘The Rules’ is another instalment ahead of a 2019 album Wilson is working on.

“Everyone talks about rules and guidelines for life, work, love,” Wilson said about the new song. “They say there are rules even for writing songs. But life’s real rules are simple: once those days are gone, they won’t return again; and once your love is gone, you won’t see them anymore.”

Dan Wilson wrote Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’, ‘Treacherous’ for Taylor Swift, ‘If I Walked Away’ for Josh Groban, Dixie Chicks ‘Not Ready To Make Nice’, ‘Home’ for Dierks Bentley and ‘When The Stars Come Out’ for Chris Stapleton. He also wrote ‘We’re Going Home’ for Australia’s Vance Joy.

We first heard Dan Wilson when he fronted Semisonic and had a global hit with ‘Closing Time’.

Semisonic recently reformed. Semisonic has just announced they will perform at Summerfest on July 6 and Basilica Block Party on July 12 in Minneapolis, MN.
