Daniel Johns and Luke Steele Reveal New Band Dreams

by Paul Cashmere on March 16, 2018

in News

Silverchair’s Daniel Johns and Empire of the Sun’s Luke Steele have combined for a new band they like to call Dreams.

Dreams dropped their debut song ‘No One Defeats Us’ today (16 March 2018). We wanted to go with something first that said ‘we are here to rip your head off’”, Daniel Johns said.

Dreams recorded ‘No One Defeats Us’ at Luke Steele’s studio in Los Angeles and Henson Studios in Hollywood. “The song is the whole genesis of the band. This is where it all started for us. Listen to the first verse – ‘… no one defeats us because we are a spirit, one as a body, the new controversy’, says Luke Steele

Steele and Johns go way back together. Luke’s earlier band Sleepy Jackson once supported Silverchair. They met in 2004 on Silverchair’s Diorama tour.

Dreams will make their live debut at Coachella in April. That makes them for first band ever to be booked for Coachella before releasing any music.
