Duff McKagan brought his good mate Danko Jones on stage at Soundwave Melbourne to perform a Guns n Roses song.
Jones took over lead vocals on the 1988 ‘Appetite For Destruction’ track ‘You’re Crazy’ for Duff McLagan’s Loaded during their set at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday afternoon.
‘You’re Crazy’ was originally an acoustic song but was rocked up for ‘Appetite For Destruction’. The original slower, acoustic version was later released on the ‘G N R Lies’ E.P.
The song was one of two Gunners’ songs McKagan had in his set. He ended with ‘It’s So Easy’, also from ‘Appetite For Destruction’. ‘It’s So Easy’ had been a regular of the Guns n Roses set since 1986 and was often played towards the start of the Use Your Illusion shows.
Duff McKagan’s Loaded will play two more Soundwave’s in Australia tomorrow (March 3) in Adelaide and Monday, March 4 in Perth.
In other Duff news, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready has revealed that he has formed a side-project with McKagan. The yet-to-be named “supergroup” will also feature Killing Joke’s Jaz Coleman and Screaming Trees Barrett Martin. An album is planned for later this year.
