Danny discovered he had leukaemia when he was touring Europe and collapsed midway through the tour. He was rushed back to Australia for treatment at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

Before heading to Europe, Danny had started work on his next album. Demos of the songs were made before the trip and in Berlin he wrote and recorded more songs.

Determined to complete the album, Danny even laid down some overdubs in hospital.

As his health deteriorated, Danny’s good friend Lachlan ‘Magoo’ Goold took over the completion of the album. Muso friends Terepai Richmond, James Gillard, Luke Moller, Ben Salter, Andrew Morris, Grant Cummerford and Mel Robinson also chimed in to help.

The result is the ‘Find Someone’ album.

The album will be launched at the Danny Widdicombe benefit at The Zoo, Brisbane on October 21. The night will feature The Gin Club, The Wilson Pickers, Evil Eddie, MC Ian Haug and other special guests.  For ticketing information please go to www.thezoo.com.au
