Rufus Taylor, the son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor, is the new drummer for The Darkness.

The Darkness sprung the surprise news in a tweet today saying:

Today 3pm, live on Radio 2 we’re playing tracks from the new album. Our new drummer Rufus Taylor will be joining us!

Rufus Taylor’s middle name Tiger was given to him by Freddie Mercury.

Rufus Taylor recently toured Australia with Queen + Adam Lambert in August 2014 with father and son performing The Drum Battle together.

Rufus was a member of the Queen + Adam Lambert touring band from 2011-2014. He was also the drummer for the London stage show ‘We Will Rock You’ and played drums with this father and Brian May at the Prince’s Trust Gala of 2010.
