The Black Swan director has shot a clip for the first single from the Lou Reed and Metallica collaboration.
‘The View’ is the first single from the critically-lambasted album Lulu and Darren Aronofsky has provided a raw black and white performance video for the song.
It debuted on IFC and Aronofsky had some glowing praise for the song, saying he was stunned the first time he heard it.
“I had never heard anything like it,” he told IFC, “Half was all Lou. The other half all Metallica. It was a marriage that on the surface made no sense, but the fusion changed the way I thought about both artists and morphed into something completely fresh and new. I couldn’t stop listening to it. Lou’s crushing lyrics, and the band’s incredible licks.”
It’s been a controversial album, so see (and hear) for yourself below.
