Darren Herft, the Guvera CEO who led the company into a multi-million dollar disaster, has jumped the sinking ship.
It is understood Herft plans on remaining on the Guvera board but has handed over the running of the company to co-founder Claes Loberg.
Streaming service Guvera went into liquidation after a failed float on the ASX meant the embattled company could not buy its way out of debt. Guvera had raised $185 million since 2008 but in the last year lost $81 million after revenues of $1.2 million.
Staff are now suing the company for unpaid wages and superannuation.
Herft was also behind Amma Private Equity, the firm that raised money for Guvera. As well as his Guvera wage, Herft’s Amma also made a 10% commission on all money raised putting over $15 million into that company account in the firm run by Herft.
Guvera co-founder Claes Loberg will take over the role of CEO when Herft officially steps down.
