Dave Grohl has been announced as the keynote speaker for the SXSW Music Conference in Austin, Texas next March.
Grohl started his career as a Rock God in a band called Scream at age 17. Three years later he was the drummer in Nirvana, debuting on the classic Nevermind album.
One year after the death of Kurt Cobain, Grohl started Foo Fighters. The first Foo Fighters record was really a solo album. He wrote and sang every word and wrote and played every note of that album before recruiting the band to tour and then play on record two.
‘Wasted Light’, the most recent Foo Fighters album, debuted at no. 1 in America and most of the rock world.
The band has now earned 11 Grammy Awards.
Grohl has also played in side-project Them Crooked Vultures with led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones and with Josh Homme in Queens of the Stone Age.
Dave Grohl will speak at the Austin Convention Center for SXSW.
SXSW Music will be on March 12-17.
