Dave Grohl’s Sound City Movie In Australian Cinemas For One Night Only

The Dave Grohl documentary Sound City will have a one-night only screening across Australia on January 31.

Grohl’s movie tells the story of Sound City Studio where he has recorded with Nirvana and Foo Fighters. The studio has also been used over the years by Steve Nicks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rick Springfield, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Leon Russell and Metallica. Metallica recorded ‘Death Magnetic’ at Sound City.

Dave Grohl premiered the movie on Friday at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah and performed with his allstar Sound City Players on Saturday. The group included Rick Springfield, Stevie Nicks and John Fogerty.

Grohl will launch the soundtrack album for the movie at SXSW in March. Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic performed Cut Me Some Slack at the 12-12-12 concert with Paul McCartney.

The Australian and one New Zealand screening for Sound City will be held on January 31 at:

Victoria: Jam Factory, Southland, Knox
New South Wales” George Street, Macquarie
Queensland: Chermside, Pacific Fair
South Australia: Marion
Western Australia: Innaloo
Auckland: Queen Street
