Dave Laing’s brilliant music compilation ‘When Sharpies Ruled’ captured that moment in time in Australian culture when fashion was not a statement.
Australia’s sharpies scene, predominately in Sydney and Melbourne around the late 60s into the early to mid 70s, was the breeding ground for a stock of Australian acts ahead of their time who were the foundation of the pub rock scene.
‘When Sharpies Ruled’ made its debut on CD a few weeks back and will be released on vinyl on October 16, 2015.
