The Rolling Stones are up for three awards, Best Book for 50, Best Music Film for Crossfire Hurricane and Music Moment of the Year for their 02 Arena shows.

The recently resurfaced David Bowie also has three, for Best Music Video for Where Are We Now?, Hero of the Year where he is up against Barack Obama and Music Moment of the Year for his return.

Other veteran artists nominated include Paul Weller (Best Solo Artist), David Byrne, Neil Young and Peter Hook (all up for Best Book), Dave Grohl (Hero of the Year), Stone Roses (Music Moment of the Year) and the band’s Ian Brown (Reissue of the Year).

The most interesting categories for the older artists are the books (see above) and Music Film whose nominees include Searching For Sugarman (Rodriguez), Marley (Bob Marley), Celebration Day (Led Zeppelin) and Crossfire Hurricane (Rolling Stones).

Note that a number of sources are stating that the Rolling Stones have four nominations, including Best Live Act; however, the NME site is showing Florence + the Machine in the category instead of the Stones.

The winners will be announced on February 27 at Troxy in East London.
