David Bowie makes a guest appearance on the new Xavier Rudd album ‘Storm Boy’.
Bowie appears posthumously on the track ‘Honeymoon Bay’ on Rudd’s ninth studio album ‘Storm Boy’. The handclap at 1 minute 15 into the song is Bowie.
The Xavier Rudd / David Bowie connection is ‘Storm Boy’ producer Tim Palmer. Palmer had previously produced the two Tin Machine albums. Tin Machine was the hard rock band Bowie formed in 1988 with Reeves Gabrels, Tony Fox Sales and Hunt Sales.
Palmer had the handclaps on a master tape from one of the Tin Machine recording sessions and used them on the Rudd record. Therefore Xavier Rudd cab genuinely claim to have David Bowie guesting on his new record, even if Bowie never knows.
Xavier Rudd will start his Australia tour in Canberra on August 2.
