David Bowie Plans More New Music

David Bowie has made a statement indicating that new music may be coming in the near future.

A charity event was held on Saturday night at London’s 12 Bar celebrating fifty years of David Bowie’s music. During the evening’s proceedings, a note that was supposedly from Bowie was read to the crowd:

This city is even better than the one you were in last year, so remember to dance, dance, dance. And then sit down for a minute, knit something, then get up and run all over the place. Do it. Love on ya. More music soon. David

While a few openly questioned whether the note was a hoax, a representative for Bowie confirmed to NME that the message was authentic.

So that leads everyone to speculate on the meaning of “soon.” His last album, The Next Day, came after a ten year hiatus and was a total surprise to the music community when it was announced at midnight on Bowie’s birthday. As “soon” certainly couldn’t refer to David’s NEXT birthday in January, we should expect an announcement sometime over the next month or two.
