The new video is the title track from the surprise 2013 album release from Bowie.

Bowie is dressed as an apostle in the video with Gary Oldman playing a Bishop and Marion Catillard a prostitute in a church/brothel.

Bowie conceived the storyboard for the video. Filmmaker Floria Sigismundi directed the video.

‘The Next Day’ album was Bowie’s first album in a decade. The first single ‘Where Are They Now?’ was released without notice in January on Bowie’s 66th birthday. The album followed in March.

‘The Next Day’ video is the third video from the album after ‘Where Are They Now’ and ‘The Stars (Are Out Tonight)’.
