David Bowie will have a brand new album title ‘Blackstar’ in January 2016.
Bowie is planning to released ‘Blackstar’ on his birthday January 8, as he turns 69. Bowie surprised fans when he made his recording on January 8, 2013 with the release of his first new music since 2003 with the song ‘Where Are We Now’. The album ‘The Next Day’ followed two months later.
While ‘The Next Day’ was commercial Bowie with contemporary 4-5 minutes songs ‘Blackstar’ is reported to be a complete experimental electro-jazz.
NME reports the title track, clocking in at over 10 minutes, will be the first single and that Bowie has no intention of releasing an edited version. The song will be used in the movie ‘The Last Panthers’. A sample of the track surfaced earlier this month.
Bowie’s peak experimental period occurred in the mid 70s with the trilogy of albums ‘Station To Station’ (1976), ‘Low’ (1977) and ‘Heroes’ (1977). The title track from ‘Station To Station’ clocked in at 10:13.
‘Blackstar’ will contain seven songs and run for 45 minutes.
