Those current David Bowie to tour rumours stem from a two year old story.
The New York Daily News is being retweeted for an article saying David Bowie’s wife Iman has let slip in an interview that Bowie is planning a tour.
The story came from March 2013.
Speaking with fashion magazine Grazia back then Iman said, “We have a 12-year-old in school, so we are stuck, we can’t travel. Our schedule is around her, so I don’t know.
“We’ll have to go visit him, but we won’t be on tour with him because she’s in school.”
David Bowie has not toured since suffering a heart attack during the A Reality Tour in 2004. After the heart issues Bowie withdrew from public activity, only making occasional appearances.
In 2013 he made a guest appearance on Arcade Fire’s ‘Reflektor’ album. Then a few months later he surprised fans with the sudden release of ‘The Next Day’, his first album in a decade.
The retrospective album ‘Nothing Has Changed’ was released in September 2014 featuring yet another new song ‘Sue (Or A Season of Crime)’.
The Iman touring comment was just old news regurgitated. After the release of ‘The Next Day’ when anticipation was high for a tour, Bowie producer Tony Visconti said that David had no plans to tour the record live.
