David Guetta is speaking to Virgin Galactic about the prospect of playing a gig in space.
Guetta is known for hits such as Titanium with Sia and When Love Takes Over, featuring Kelly Rowland. But David hasn’t fulfilled his ambitions yet, and has some pretty big aims for the future.
“I spoke with the people from Virgin Galactic at some point and we did speak about it being a show in space,” David told BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills. “That would be pretty cool.”
David’s interview came as he geared up to perform the official anthem for the UEFA Euro 2016 final. His involvement in the soccer tournament saw him build up a friendship with soccer player Zlatan Ibrahimovic and others at Paris Saint-Germain. And even though France may have been knocked out of the competition, David and his new pals still enjoyed themselves.
“We all had an afterparty in their massive room that they had at the hotel and it was really cool to know all of them. It was the first time that I met Zlatan that time,” he smiled.
David’s pre-recorded interview was broadcast on Friday (15Jul16) following the tragic news that a terror attack in Nice, France, had claimed the lives of 84 people and injured hundreds more. But the DJ is hoping to use his status to make a political statement against these kinds of horrific attacks in the future, as he agreed to do the official anthem in exchange for being allowed to perform a concert under the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
“Of course, you know this is very political,” he said. “You have to know the people, the mayor, you know… And then I was like if I do it do you think you could organise for me to do a concert under the Eiffel Tower?”
