David Lynch Remixes Zola Jesus

Zola Jesus has had her song In Your Nature rebuilt by filmmaker turned musician David Lynch.

Lynch has completely redone the song with only Jesus’ vocals surviving the chop. Where the original had a stunning string arrangement contrasted with industrial techno drums, Lynch has added reverberated guitars and simple live-sounding drums, leaving Jesus’ vocals to drive the song.

In some ways it echoes Lynch’s work on Julee Cruise’s 1989 album Floating Into the Night.

Lynch chose the song himself after listening to Jesus’ 2011 album Conatus.

The remix will appear on the 7” version of the single, which is available now.
